Selecting the right pneumatic fitting looks simple, but three decisions decide whether your air line stays leak-free for years. Here is the practical checklist we give our distributors.
1. Tube size
Match the fitting to your tubing outer diameter. Common sizes are 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 16 mm. Mixing sizes is the #1 cause of push-in leaks.
2. Thread standard
Know your market: Europe and Asia mostly use Metric and BSPP; North America often uses NPT. We stock all four so you can consolidate suppliers.
3. Body material
PBT plastic is light and economical for general lines; nickel-plated brass suits higher temperature and vibration; 316 stainless is for corrosive or food-grade environments.
