Where You’ll Find It

Pick the Right Material
Steel (black oxide). Workhorse. Takes abuse. Most shops pick this.
Brass. Cheaper. Fine for light use. Gets loose if you connect/disconnect all day.
Stainless (304/316). Costs more but won’t rust. Food, pharma, marine.
Three Mistakes People Make
- Mixing profiles. Nitto plugs won’t fit American or European couplers. Pick one standard and stick to it.
- Wrong threads. Nitto uses BSP. Not NPT. They look almost the same but won’t seal. Thread angle is different (55 vs 60 degrees).
- Going too small. 1/4″ handles most tools. Need more airflow for sanders or spray guns? Step up to 3/8″ or 1/2″.
